Alici McNeal

Deputy Director of Equity and Wellness

Alici McNeal (she/her) joined the Office of Equity as the Deputy Director in August 2024 and brings over 20 years of expertise in healthcare management, focusing on equitable development and implementation of healthcare services for geriatric, youth, disabled, and Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) populations. Alici has held leadership roles in community development and strategic communications. Her work has significantly contributed to healthcare improvements and research across multidisciplinary areas, ensuring equitable access to medical care for underserved populations.

In her current role, Alici is committed to advancing Illinois Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives. She plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing DEIA action plans across state agencies, facilitating cross-agency learning, and capacity building. Alici also leads statewide training and education efforts, collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance the state’s commitment to equity. Additionally, she serves as a consultant and content expert for various government equity projects with statewide impact, ensuring that equity and inclusion remain at the forefront of Illinois initiatives.
